Today we’re making Bingo Blitz a little fairer for players in different time zones.
Previously, Blitz games started at the same UTC time, which worked well for some players but landed at awkward local times for others. Going forward, Blitz start times will rotate across a wider set of windows so different regions get better local start times over time.
We’re also adding occasional 2-day Blitz games. Most Blitzes will still use the classic 1-day format, but every now and then we’ll run a 2-day version to mix things up and keep things fresh.
A few details:
-
Blitz start times will be spread across several global-friendly windows.
-
The schedule will still feel a little spontaneous, but with guardrails so one region doesn’t keep getting unlucky.
-
Most games will still be 1-day Blitzes, with 2-day Blitzes showing up much less often.
-
Blitz games are randomized to land on the schedule about twice a week. To help keep that rhythm, if it’s been too long since the last Blitz, we’ll add one to the schedule instead of waiting for chance to line things up.
The goal is to keep Blitz feeling spontaneous and lightweight while making it easier for more people around the world to jump in and compete.
