StepSmash Release 1.11.0
This release adds personalized friend invite links, smooths the path for Fitbit members moving to Google Health, and also makes fitness syncing more reliable and clears out a batch of bugs.
Invite friends with your own link
You can now create a personal invite link from the Friends tab and share it anywhere.
- Tap Create and share to generate your link and send it through Messages, social apps, or anywhere else.
- When you share it, it shows a rich preview card with your name and avatar so friends know it’s from you.
- Anyone who taps your link lands on your profile and can send you a friend request. You stay in control and accept the ones you want.
- Changed your mind? You can recreate or delete your link anytime from the Friends tab. The old link stops working everywhere you shared it.
Moving Fitbit over to Google Health
Google is moving Fitbit app connections to a newer Google Health integration. We added a gentle prompt that helps you update your connection so your Fitbit data keeps syncing with StepSmash and stays in your challenges.
More reliable fitness syncing
- Added a spinner so you can tell when StepSmash is syncing your fitness data.
- More dependable historical backfill when you connect Garmin.
- Google sign-in now lets you pick from all of your Google accounts.
Bug fixes
- Fixed bingo tiles briefly vanishing during the flip animation on Android.
- Fixed not being able to scroll vertically on some game screens.
- Fixed a crash that could keep chat from loading.
- Fixed extra spacing under the chat text box.
- Tapping a “Bingo Blitz just appeared” notification now takes you home, where you can join, instead of an empty game screen.
- Tapping a notification no longer reopens that same screen the next time you launch the app.
- Pending game invitations are now cleaned up after a game ends.
