We’re thrilled to announce that in StepSmash 1.12.0 we’ve added an official direct integration with Oura.
We know, we just released 1.11.0, but our Oura certification process moved faster than expected, so we’re already back with another update.
Oura users have been able to connect to StepSmash through Apple Health or Health Connect for a while, but Oura activity data works a little differently than data from many other trackers. Because of that the experience could be inconsistent, and we want anyone to be able to use StepSmash regardless of which activity tracker they own.
We’re shipping two quick fixes today. These updates arrive over the air, independent of the app store, and usually take effect the next time you restart StepSmash.
Activity totals on Smash Bingo games could briefly show 0 before your real totals appeared.
When a Step Challenge ends, most players haven’t synced their final steps yet, so StepSmash waits up to 24 hours for everyone to sync before declaring a winner. During that window, players who synced could land in the wrong spot on the leaderboard, out of order with their step counts. Rankings now always match the steps shown.
Two small fixes were gradually rolled out starting Friday morning, with the patch reaching full availability to everyone over the last few hours.
The bonus overlay would sometimes overlap with the bottom rows of the bingo board, which made it difficult or impossible to apply bonuses to those tiles.
In certain conditions it was possible to use the Tile Swap bonus on tiles that you had already flipped. This could unintentionally make certain tiles free, or even break the match for that individual. It is no longer possible to use Tile Swap on any flipped tiles under any conditions.
