I think the “Cancel” button on the “Use the bonus here” popup should either be renamed to “Forfeit bonus”, or be made to allow the player to back out and use the bonus elsewhere.
I lost a free tile bonus today when, as I clicked a tile to use the bonus on, I spotted a different tile where I thought the bonus would be better used. I then tried cancelling, thinking I could reselect. But it seems cancelling forfeits the bonus. I think that should be made more clear, in every other app I’ve ever used “cancel” means “Back”.
Happy to share that as of StepSmash Release 1.9.0 we’ve completely revamped the bonus user-experience. Not only can you cancel a bonus to use later, but you can keep as many per-game as you want. We’ve also greatly improved the visuals that accompany each bonus so it’s more clear when you’ve selected specific tiles to spend a bonus on.
